Firefighters, Police Unions Endorse Same Three in Covington Commission Race

The International Association of Firefighters Local 38 which represents the City of Covington's firefighters, has made its endorsements in the race for Covington City Commission. Recently retired firefighter Alan "Chip" Terry, who launched a write-in campaign last month, picked up one of the union's three endorsements in the race which will see four people elected in November. First-time candidate Chuck Eilerman also picked up an endorsement as did former City Commissioner and former City Hall department head Mildred Rains.

Those same three candidates also picked up the endorsement of the Fraternal Order of Police on September 14, though the FOP also made an endorsement in the mayor's race, picking City Commissioner Steve Casper over City Commissioner Sherry Carran. Other candidates in the city commission race include incumbent Steve Frank, former Covington police officer Neil Gilreath, former airport firefighter Roger Hamilton, neighborhood leader Greg Paeth, and non-profit director Michelle Williams.
