Former Covington, Kenton Co. Commissioner OK After Plane Crash
A former Covington City Commissioner and Kenton County Commissioner and her husband were the two people involved in a small plane crash in Fort Thomas on Saturday night. Nyoka Johnston and her husband Gary Johnston were able to return to work today according to WKRC:
Nyoka was a Covington Commissioner from 1986 to 1991 and a Kenton County Commissioner from 1995-1998. According to the website for Northern Kentucky University, Gary is an Associate Professor of Music, teaching electronic and computer music technology, orchestration, and music appreciation.
WKRC reporter Joe Webb spoke with the couple today and is expected to have the full story Monday evening at 6:00PM. According to an online search, Nyoka Johnston was the top vote-getter in the 1988 City Commission election and served as Vice Mayor and also served on various local committees and boards including the Kenton County Republican Women's Club and the Friends of Covington. According to WKRC, the couple now lives in Edgewood.
