Weight Restriction Lifted on Suspension Bridge, TANK Trolleys Return
The three-ton weight restriction placed on the Roebling Suspension Bridge in October has been lifted by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The regular weight limit is eleven tons. The Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky reports on its website that the Southbank Trolleys will return to their regular route across the Suspension Bridge Saturday after having been detoured by the weight restriction.
During routine inspections two months ago, deterioration in one of the bridge's beams was discovered prompting the three-ton restriction. Repairs finished this week.
