Photos: Inside Covington's Lincoln Grant School Building
The River City News got an exclusive look inside the Lincoln Grant School building on Greenup Street and presents these photos for you.
The building was constructed in the 1930s as the city's African-American school that operated as such until integration of the public school system.
In recent years, Lincoln Grant has sat vacant, deteriorating.
However, a recent decision by the Covington City Commission calls for the property to be redeveloped into a Scholar House program, a residential educational facility for individuals and families looking to escape the grips of public assistance.
In May, a state board recommended that Lincoln Grant be considered for placement on the National Register of Historic Places.
