Hot! Temperatures Return to 90s and Stay There this Week

The mild temperatures that August gave us in the middle of the month are a thing of the past and a scorching seven day forecast is now in store.

The National Weather Service issued a heat index warning Tuesday through Sunday, reporting that it could feel like 95 to 100 degrees those days.

Each day this week will see a high temperature at or over 90 degrees with some low temperatures not dipping below 70.

Thunderstorms also appear in the forecast.

Here is your 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service:

MONDAY Sunny, with a high near 90. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph in the afternoon.

MONDAY NIGHT Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. Light southwest wind.

TUESDAY Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Southwest wind 3 to 7 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. Southwest wind 3 to 5 mph.

WEDNESDAY A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 10am. Partly sunny, with a high near 93. West wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

THURSDAY Mostly sunny, with a high near 89.

THURSDAY NIGHT Partly cloudy, with a low around 67.

FRIDAY Mostly sunny, with a high near 91.

FRIDAY NIGHT Partly cloudy, with a low around 69.

SATURDAY Mostly sunny, with a high near 93.
