Young Covington Students March Against Bullying

Students from John G. Carlisle School marched through Downtown Covington on Friday morning as part of its second annual Anti-Bullying Kickoff Parade.

The elementary students marched along West Robbins Street, Holman Avenue, Pike Street, Seventh & Eighth Streets, Scott Boulevard, and Russell Street, while holding handmade signs and chanting that "John G. is bully free!".

The purpose of the parade is get students excited about the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program. The program addresses bullying at all levels of a student's experience: individual, classroom, school-wide and community.  It also helps create a culture of acceptance within the school so that bullying is less likely to occur and less likely to be inadvertently rewarded.
