Lights, Camera, Awesome! Video Celebrates Covington
Disclosure: The River City News Editor & Publisher Michael Monks is a member of The Awesome Collective of Covington.
The Awesome Collective of Covington will debut its new Index of Awesome, a film celebrating the awesomeness of Covington.
The video is a follow-up to 2012's successful Index of Awesome 'zine, a small print publication that highlighted the people, places, and things that make the city awesome.
Funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign and a Place Matters mini-grant from the Center for Great Neighborhoods, the film highlights people and gathering spots in Covington as voted on by the public in an online survey earlier this year.
Produced by Matic Media, the film will debut Friday, December 20, at The Carnegie in Downtown Covington. The free premiere party goes from 6 - 9 p.m. and will feature complimentary snacks and drinks. There will also be a cash bar, movie theater-style candy from Mainstrasse Village's The Candy Bar, and Chicago Don's Hot Dogs.
You'll also be able to buy posters commemorating the event. The poster promoting the event features the Awesome Collective's signature duck and yellow color in the middle of the iconic stained-glass dome at The Carnegie.
DJ Harv will be spinning.
See a preview of the film below.
