Broadcaster Dick Vitale Congratulates, Poses With Covington Catholic

ESPN college basketball personality Dick Vitale posed with the Covington Catholic basketball team Monday night after the Colonels won the Suncoast Holiday Classic in Florida over North Port 65-43.

The legendary broadcaster gave the Colonels a few shout-outs on Twitter and then posed for a photo with the tournament champs.

According to nkyFAN, Senior Nick Ruthsatz was named the tournament's most valuable player and Ben Heppler was named to the all-tournament team.

nkyFAN's Rick Broering tweeted to Vitale, asking what Dickie V thought of Ruthsatz. "The catalyst - tenacious - Has keen hoops IQ," Vitale tweeted back. Ruthsatz signed earlier this year to play basketball at Findlay in Ohio

Vitale also tweeted the above photo of him posing with the Colonels to his 577,000 followers while Cov Cath's official Twitter sent out the photo below.

The Colonels won last year's 35th District title over Holmes but fell in a rematch with the Bulldogs in the Ninth Region finals.
