Man Fires Shot in Air, is Arrested in Latonia
A man is behind bars Tuesday night after allegedly firing a gun into the air.
Melvin Doug Steger, 61, was booked into the Kenton County Detention Center and charged with one count of first degree wanton endangerment.
Police on the scene told The River City News that the suspect came outside with a gun, was possibly intoxicated, and fired a single shot into the air.
RCN readers reported at The River City News Facebook page that they saw multiple officers respond to the scene at the 900 block of West 33rd Street with guns drawn.
Steger was arrested without incident and the scene was cleared at around 8:30 p.m.
Steger is due in court Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.
