Three Score 20-Plus, Push Holmes Over Ryle 87-67
Big scoring night for Marcus Hill, James Bolden, and Markel McClendon propelled Holmes to a big 87-67 win over the visiting Ryle Raiders on Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs bolted to an early lead and while Ryle would occasionally nip away at it and threaten to get close, Holmes never trailed.
McClendon put up 29, Bolden scored 22, and Hill contributed 20 in the rout. Holmes is now 16-3 on the season.
Senior guard Tanner White led the Raiders in scoring with 20.
Prior to tip-off, Holmes High School honored Douglas B. Schloemer who was named Kentucky's Mr. Basketball in 1978. Schloemer, who went on to play for the University of Cincinnati, served as an honorary coach on the Bulldogs' bench Tuesday night. He is now a lawyer and his daughters sang the National Anthem before the game.
Holmes travels to Beechwood on Friday night.
