State Treasurer to Visit Newport in Celebration of Treasure Finders Success
Kentucky State Treasurer Todd Hollenbach set a goal to return more than $100 million in unclaimed monies to its proper owners.
That goal was surpassed, so Hollenbach, who dubbed the program "Treasure Finders", is traveling the state to celebrate. He will be in Newport on Tuesday.
Announced last April, Hollenbach said that through his first five years in office, his office had returned $76 million. By the end of his second term, Hollenbach had hoped to return $100 million. The effort made a special stop in Covington last May.
“I set a goal of returning at least $100-million by the end of my second term” Hollenbach said, “but the Treasure Finders program has been so successful that we’ve surpassed our goal and I want to personally thank some of those who were directly involved.”
The Treasurer has also set a new goal he calls “120 in 120!” and will be explaining the details of that initiative.
See Hollenbach at the Campbell County Courthouse Administrative Building at 1098 Monmouth Street at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
