Sentencing of Former Covington Finance Director Delayed Till June
Former Covington finance director Bob Due was to be sentenced Thursday for embezzling $793,000 from the city coffers.
However, the judge in the case was called out of town and Due's sentencing is now scheduled for June 5 at 2:30 p.m.
Due, 64, pleaded guilty to the theft that took place over a dozen years, in March. He was originally to be sentenced in April, and then on May 15, before being postponed to May 22.
Due faces fifteen years in prison though is attorney said that he will ask for ten. With time served and possible parole, the Due could spend fewer than three years in prison.
