Lack of Quorum Forces Ludlow Council to Cancel Budget Reading
The City of Ludlow will have to meet twice next week in order pass its budget.
Thursday night's meeting was canceled due to a lack of quorum.
Council members Tom Amann and Joyce McMullin were absent and Mayor Ken Wynn was at home following a recent stint in the hospital (he's doing well, RCN is told). Wynn's absence elevated Councilwoman Amy Clary to preside as mayor but with only three councilmen present (Josh Boone, Bill Mullins, and Randy Wofford), there were not enough to pass any legislation.
In Ludlow, the mayor only votes to break ties.
The city's budget was scheduled for a first reading and would be finalized during a caucus meeting next Thursday. A special meeting has been set for Monday at 7 p.m. for a first reading before Thursday's final vote.
