Suspected Door-to-Door Scam Artist Arrested in Newport
A man is behind bars after Newport Police arrested him and accused him of a door-to-door scam in Ft. Thomas.
Jeffrey Brumback, 24, faces charges of theft by deception (including cold checks) and second degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. He is in the Campbell County Detention Center.
Pat LaFleur reported in Ft. Thomas Matters in February that police in Ft. Thomas were looking for Brumback after he was suspected of soliciting residents door-to-door in what police believed to be a casing of potential burglary targets. Newport Police on Facebook said Brumback allegedly stole from a 100-year old victim.
Newport Police confirmed Brumback's arrest on Saturday morning. No court date has been announced.
