Call to Artists: Can You Design this Annual Event's Poster?
Can you design the winning poster for the next NKY Restoration Weekend?
The third annual event will be held in March at the Gateway Urban Center in Covington -- but first, it needs a new look. Last year, Andy Juengling designed the winning poster (pictured above) and this year it could be you who bags $350 for your design. Mark Kerley of Lucky Rabbit Studios was the winning designer in 2013.
NKY Restoration's news release announcing the contest described the historic fabric of Northern Kentucky as one of the region's biggest assets and said that connecting with artists to share how the craftsmanship and artistry of our historic structures speak to them is a great way to bridge the gap between old world and new perspectives, as happens during Restoration Weekend.
To qualify: artists must be 18-years old and live within a 75-mile radius of the host cities of Covington, Newport, and Bellevue. Artists can use their favorite media and must incorporate all mandatory information found on the poster contest application. Artists are asked to include the themes of historic architecture, historic building details, craftsmanship, building trades, riverfront landscapes, or topics that celebrate those.
Entries should be submitted as 11x17 vertical PDFs to [email protected] by October 24, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. The winner will be announced on October 30.
