The gem of Fairfield Avenue will soon be considered for placement on the National Register of Historic Places.

Bellevue purchased the Marianne Theater in June and has hosted a public meeting to gather input on what should become of it.

Plans for the Marianna were also discussed by the two candidates running for mayor.

So what's next?

Dave Killen, who has been working on the nomination documents to place the theater on the National Register of Historic Places, will present to the city's historic preservation commission on Monday at 7 p.m. inside the Callahan Center. The commission will review the nomination as part of the Certified Local Government (CLG) responsibility before the nomination is reviewed in Frankfort by the Kentucky Heritage Council.

The Kentucky Historic Preservation Review Board is scheduled to meet on December 9 in Frankfort and will review the nomination.
