Cold Morning Temperature Shatters 134-Year Old Record
Winter has made an early appearance and though the season closed a bunch of schools with the region's first significant snow storm on Monday, it wasn't through yet.
On Tuesday morning, the temperature hit 9 degrees at CVG International Airport, a record low for this date, according to WXIX. The previous record was 12 degrees, marked in 1880. The record high of 26 was set in 1951, but we're not expected to get out of the teens today.
The National Weather Service warned of the very cold conditions Tuesday morning. Gusty winds and ice patches were of concern while wind chills will range from near zero to ten degrees below for much of the morning. In the afternoon, the wind chill will still be in the single digits.
Anyone spending any time outside should dress appropriately and use caution while traveling.
