Northern Kentucky Flu Cases at Record Levels
Kentucky is experiencing flu at a widespread level, meaning that outbreaks or increases in flu-like illness have been reported in at least half the state's regions. "Widespread" is the highest level of flu activity.
In Northern Kentucky, flu cases are at record levels, according to the Northern Kentucky Health Department. A total of 617 cases have been reported through December 6 with hundreds more coming in the past week.
The age group most affected is kids, aged six to ten years old.
It is important to prevent the flu by getting the vaccine, washing hands, avoiding people who are sick, and staying home if you are sick.
The 2013-14 flu season saw 1,341 cases with five deaths.
