St. Elizabeth to Kick Off Heart Health Program in January

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is inviting community members to improve their cardiac age through the Take Time for Your Heart program, offered by the St. Elizabeth Heart & Vascular Institute. The course classes, which are offered during the day or in the evening, are designed to help participants make positive lifestyle changes to improve their heart health. The evening class kicks off on Tuesday, January 6 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Edgewood, and the morning class begins on Wednesday, January 7 at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Florence.

Participants will meet weekly for ten weeks to talk about heart health with clinical experts. Initially, they will identify their risk factors through a cardiac age assessment. After the assessment, participants will meet weekly to learn lifestyle changes to improve their cardiac age. They will complete an assessment at the end of the program to measure progress.

In addition to expert advice from a registered nurse, a pharmacist, a dietician, an exercise physiologist and a counselor, each participant will receive a copy of Mayo Clinic Healthy Heart for Life! The course schedule is as follows:
