Woman Arrested After Mother is Killed in Independence
One woman is dead and another is behind bars after an apparent killing in Independence.
Lara Paige Conley, 37, is in the Kenton County Detention Center where she faces a charge of murder-domestic violence.
Independence Police referred a call from The River City News to Kenton County Commonwealth's Attorney Rob Sanders who said that the victim was Conley's mother who suffered from stab wounds at the scene. An autopsy will determine the official cause of death, he said.
Details were limited on Sunday but The River City News has learned that police responded to Summit Run Drive in Independence late Saturday night, just before midnight after receiving an initial call of a home invasion. What happened after that initial call and before Conley's booking at 6:41 a.m. is not yet known.
Conley is scheduled to appear in court on Monday at 8:30 a.m.
