Rain is Gone, but Flood Warning Remains

The rain has moved on and the snow has melted but a FLOOD WARNING remains in effect for Northern Kentucky through late Thursday.

The National Weather Service reported the Ohio River at 57.1 feet at 6 a.m. Monday. Moderate flooding is taking place and more is in the forecast as flood stage is 52 feet.

The river is expected to fall below 56 feet by Monday evening though it will remain above minor flood stage until early Friday morning.

High water has consumed parts of Covington's Historic Licking Riverside neighborhood which attracted national television broadcasts to the riverfront on Monday morning.

Meanwhile, Monday will otherwise be a very pleasant day weather-wise. The National Weather Service expects sunny skies with a high near 73.

On Tuesday, expect partly sunny skies and a high near 55. Sunshine sticks around on Wednesday but it will be cooler as we hit a high of just 46.

Possible rainfall returns on Thursday with a chance of showers before 9 a.m. and a high near 48.

The weekend looks nice and by then the high water from the river should have receded. On Friday, spring officially begins with partly sunny skies and a high near 50. On Saturday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 55. Then on Sunday, it will again be mostly sunny with a high near 49.
