Letters: Covington Schoolchildren Thank Philanthropist for Sending History Mobile to Them
A few schools in Covington recently had the opportunity to send their students to the History Mobile, a moving museum exhibit produced by the Kentucky Historical Society. The current exhibit features historic artifacts from the Civil War.
Covington philanthropists Oakley & Eva Farris sponsored the recent visit by the History Mobile and students from Holy Cross and St. Augustine Schools expressed their thanks with hand-drawn letters.
"Eva and I are blessed to have the opportunity of introducting Covington's schoolchildren to the History Mobile," Oakley Farris said in a Facebook post. "The History Mobile is a wonderful education opportunity and it certainly made a huge impression on these children. We are so impressed at their creativity and thoughtfulness. Please join us in recognizing these bright young minds and their desire to learn."
