Downtown Covington Restaurant Closes
A Downtown Covington restaurant has closed.
Europa Bistro, which moved to RiverCenter Boulevard on the riverfront a few years after originally opening in Mainstrasse Village, has closed its doors for good.
Most of the contents have been removed from the space.
"Unfortunately, we made the decision to close the restaurant but thank you for thinking of us and have a great day," chef Nicola Palmieri said in the restaurant's voicemail recording.
When the restaurant moved from Mainstrasse in 2013, it increased its capacity from 32 to 80. RiverCenter's restaurant offerings also took a hit that year when Behle Street closed that December (though a similar concept later opened in Ft. Mitchell).
The Gruff opened nearby earlier this year and has been a hit, and First Watch and Subway continue to operate on the ground level of the RiverCenter towers.
