Library Director Will Be Guest Speaker at Memorial Day Event in Ludlow
Dave Schroeder, director of the Kenton County Public Library, will be the featured speaker at Ludlow's Memorial Day event which takes place at the Ludlow Memorial Park following the city's annual parade. The parade will be held on Monday, May 25 at 11:00 a.m. and begin at the corner of Elm and Carneal streets in Ludlow.
Schroeder will discuss the importance of remember those who gave their lives in service to their country, with a particular emphasis on Ludlow servicemen and women. Schroeder recently discovered three Ludlow men who died during the Spanish-American War. These men have been forgotten to history. He found them doing research for the recently published sesquintennial history of Ludlow.
To learn more about local servicemen and women, the Kenton County Public Library’s Local History and Genealogy Department maintains an extensive history and genealogy colletion at the Covington Branch on Scott Boulevard. Many photos of veterans can also be found online at the Library’s online photo gallery, Faces and Places, at http://www.kentonlibrary.org/
