New Leaders Named at Erlanger-Elsmere Schools
The Erlanger-Elsmere School District has named new leaders across the district.
Chad Molley was named assistant superintendent. He has been an assistant principal and athletic director at Lloyd Memorial High School where he arrived in 2002. Previous experience includes eight years as a social studies teacher in Kenton County Schools. He is a Lloyd graduate and his father, Jim Molley, was superintendent of the district. In 2012, Molley joined the district administration as an instructional coordinator.
He lives in Erlanger with his wife, Tracey Molley, the family recourse coordinator for the district, and two children, Tatum, 11, and Payton, 9.
“This position means I have an opportunity to give back what has been given to me by this community: knowledge, love, hope, and a future,” Molley said.
Matt Engel was named Supervisor of Instruction. He has spent his entire 17-year career with Erlanger-Elsmere Schools, beginning as an English teacher at Lloyd in 1999 before becoming assistant principal in 2006. He continued in that capacity until 2009, when he was hired to be principal at Arnett Elementary. While teaching, Engel also served as track and field coach. He resides in Walton with his wife Amy and two children, Cameron, 11 and Hannah, 9.
“As a graduate of the district, I am quite proud that I will have the opportunity to continue to serve this community in my new role,” Engel said.
Mac Cooley was named principal of Tichenor Middle School. He has been with the district since 2000, when he came to work as a Social Studies/English teacher and varsity football coach at Lloyd. Since then, his position has evolved and he served most recently as Lloyd’s Instructional Coach, Social Studies Department Chair, and Senior Class Sponsor. He also sponsors the LEGO Club at Miles Elementary with his wife, Amy Cooley, who is the district's Early Childhood Community Connector.
Before coming to the district, Cooley taught and coached at Hancock County and Simon Kenton High Schools.
An Erlanger resident, Cooley’s son Joseph will also be starting sixth grade at Tichenor this year and his son Lucas will be in the fifth grade at Miles Elementary.
“I am so excited to serve the students and families in the Erlanger-Elsmere School District in this new capacity,” Cooley said. “I cannot wait to the start of the 2015-2016 school year.”
Amanda New is now principal of Arnett Elementary. She previously served Gallatin County Schools and has taught first, second, and third grades since 2008. She lives in Sparta with her husband David and their two children, Aubrey, 14, and Avery, 5.
“I am so excited to be a part of the Arnett Family,” New said in a news release. “I want to build onto the amazing foundation here and continue to lead the Falcons in a successful direction.”
The district also named the addition of three new assistant principals. Former Newport Central Catholic principal Bob Knoll is now assistant principal at Lloyd High School. Cara Holland, formerly of Boone County Schools, is also a new assistant principal at Lloyd. Bill Pilgrim, formerly a physical education teacher at Lloyd, is now assistant principal and athletic director at Tichenor Middle School.
