Accused Latonia Bank Robber Used Toy Gun, Held on $100,000 Bond
A man is behind bars after allegedly robbing a Latonia bank with a toy gun.
Akihiko Clayton, 20, was taken into custody late Tuesday morning after allegedly robbing the Huntington Bank branch in Latonia. Covington Police indicated that Clayton's alleged weapon was a toy gun made to look like a real pistol, used to make the bank's employees go to the floor.
When he attempted to flee from the bank, police were already waiting outside and quickly arrested him.
Clayton is being held on $100,000 bond and is charged with first degree robbery and kidnapping. Jail records indicate that he also had a warrant in another jurisdiction though further details were not immediately available.
The accused robber is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday morning.
