Bucking both national and statewide trends, Thomas More College has announced record full-time enrollment for the Fall 2015 semester. TMC also brought in the second-largest freshmen class in college history and set a record for students living on-campus.
"I couldn't be more proud of the teamwork that went into recruiting this class. From our admissions department to faculty to coaches--everybody did their part," said Thomas More College President David Armstrong. "Despite downward trends in higher education enrollment, students continue to make Thomas More College the Catholic liberal arts college of choice."
The National Student Clearinghouse Research Center reports a 1.9% decrease in postsecondary enrollment from 2014 to 2015. Likewise, numbers just released by the Association of Independent Kentucky Colleges and Universities show first-time freshmen commitments are down, on average, 2.91% while transfer student commitments are down, on average, 10.24% from year to year. However, TMC's first-time freshmen commitments are up 5.82% over last year. Also, transfer student commitments are up 18.87% at TMC in 2015 versus 2014.
