Kentucky Career Center to Close CVG Airport Location
The Kentucky Career Center location at the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) will close this week.
After 15 years, the location will shutter on Wednesday, September 23, due to the demolition of Terminal 1 at the airport.
The location, which serves airport employers and job seekers, will relocate to the new Kentucky Career Center facility at 1324 Madison Avenue in Covington and will also utilize an office annex at 77 Comair Boulevard in Erlanger.
During and after this transition, the Airport Employers’ Hotline of (859) 767-6206 will continue to operate for employers that are based at CVG. Airport job seekers may contact (859) 292-6666.
The airport location of the Kentucky Career Center operated in partnership with the Northern Kentucky Workforce Investment Board and the Kenton County Airport Board. It has been the point-of-entry for job-seekers at the airport and was the only center of its kind in the nation, according to a news release.
“The Kentucky Career Center is committed to providing the same excellent quality services and personalized attention to our airport customers throughout this transition and beyond”, Kentucky Career Center Director Jason Ashbrook said. “We are thankful for the outstanding partnership of the Kenton County Airport Board, along with the support from the Northern Kentucky Workforce Investment Board. We look forward to the possibility of re-opening a satellite career center at CVG, once the construction phases have been completed.”
