VonLehman Moving Headquarters from Ft. Mitchell to Ft. Wright
A building in Ft. Wright will be the new home of VonLehman & Company, the regional CPA and business advisory firm that has offices in Ft. Mitchell, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis. The firm will leave its current office in Ft. Mitchell to move up the road to Wright's Summit, the Class A office building developed and built by Wessels Construction & Development.
“To accommodate our continued growth and to better serve our clients and staff, we have hired one of Northern Kentucky’s top real estate developers to build out our office space in a new, state-of-the-art office building in Fort Wright,” said VonLehman president Brian Malthouse, in a news release. “The location of our new office – just off I-75/71 three miles from downtown Cincinnati – will be convenient to both our clients and our employees.”
VonLehman, one of the largest accounting firms in the Greater Cincinnati area, will be relocating to a new, 56,000-square-foot Class A office building at the Wright’s Summit Office Complex located along I-75/71 near the intersection of Kyles Lane and Dixie Highway in Fort Wright. VonLehman will occupy approximately 30,000 square feet of office space. Another 26,000 square feet of office space will be available for lease.
Ft. Wright City Council saw a detailed presentation earlier this month about the new buildings going up on the site.
VonLehman will continue to operate its offices in Cincinnati and Indianapolis.
“Northern Kentucky continues to attract and retain great businesses,” said Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear, in a news release. “VonLehman is among 56 companies that have announced new locations and expansions this year that will bring over 2,700 jobs to the region. VonLehman has been a great corporate citizen for many years, and I wish its leadership and staff all the best with this expansion.”
Not only was VonLehman outgrowing its Ft. Mitchell office space, the CPA and consulting firm conducted an internal market study and found that Wright's Summit in Ft. Wright was superior in many respects and a more convenient location for many of its employees and clients, Malthouse said.
“Ft. Mitchell has been a great location for our business for many years and has served our company well,” Malthouse said. “We looked at a number of different options, but in the end, we determined that the Wright's Summit office development in Fort Wright was the most suitable location and offered the best office solution for our clients' and employees' needs.”
Construction on the new office building in Fort Wright is expected to start this month and be completed in December 2016.
“The City of Fort Wright is both fortunate and honored to have been selected as the location for new headquarters of VonLehman & Company,” Fort Wright Mayor Dave Hatter said. “We are blessed and grateful to have this prestigious and iconic regional accounting firm choose to do business in our city, and on behalf of the City Council and the entire City of Fort Wright, I extend a hearty welcome to the employees of VonLehman & Company.”
“Our team has had the good fortune to work closely with the professional staff at VonLehman,” Hatter continued, “and we've learned that the company was drawn to Fort Wright for many of the same reasons other businesses and residents locate here: we are a community close to urban amenities but one that maintains the charm and feel of a small town. In addition, our business-friendly culture and low tax rates make our city attractive to successful, growing businesses like VonLehman.”
The move to the new headquarters comes as VonLehman is growing its business. The company announced in early September that it had moved up a full 20 positions -- from 176 to 156 -- in Inside Public Accounting's Sixth Annual Ranking of the Nation's Top 200 Accounting Firms list -- the "IPA 200" -- which is regarded as the benchmarking gold standard within the industry.
“VonLehman hires the best people and works hard to anticipate and fulfill our clients’ needs,” Malthouse said. “Our growth depends on exceeding our clients' expectations every day and keeping our employees challenged and fulfilled. I'm proud to say our leadership team is succeeding.”
VonLehman also has been nominated as a finalist for the Cincinnati Business Courier 2015 Best Places to Work award, which is based on employee surveys administered by the independent firm of Quantum Workplace.
“It is with great pride that VonLehman & Co. has returned to the Business Courier's 2015 Best Places to Work list,” Malthouse said. “The survey is used to determine if employees are truly engaged in the company. Our employees clearly are, and that is exactly what we want and it's what makes this organization great.”
