The Republican rout in Kentucky's statewide elections on Tuesday caught some by surprise.
Late polling showed a close race for governor, but indicated that Democrat Jack Conway would win. However, when the votes were counted, Republican Matt Bevin was swept into office with an 8-point victory.
Not only that, but Republicans won the Treasurer and Commissioner of Agriculture offices by wide margins, and picked up the Auditor's office in a shocking upset of incumbent Democrat Adam Edelen.
