Free Health Insurance Forums Being Offered in NKY

CareSource, a commercial health plan on Kentucky’s kynect, will offer health insurance education forums designed to help consumers make informed choices for their families, particularly those displaced by the Kentucky Health Cooperative.

In 2014 CareSource enrolled more than 5,900 Kentuckians through kynect. This year, the mission-based nonprofit with a 26-year history will expand its footprint to more than double their 2015 enrollment.

“Kentucky has seen one of the highest declines in uninsured consumers in the last two years and CareSource is proud to be a part of helping Kentuckians find the affordable coverage they need. Our education sessions will focus on how to shop for coverage, understand policies and compare the value of health care versus accepting tax penalties,” said Scott Streator, Senior Vice President CareSource.

Kentuckians can:

  • Call toll free 877-316-0001 to speak with a Community Educator about how to access health care.
  • Visit CareSource.com/Just4me/KY/ to shop individual and family health plans, find an explanation of health care terms, and view rates and plan details.
  • Attend a Community Education forum about stable health care for individual and family coverage.

“We know that having quality, affordable health care coverage is a concern for many Kentuckians, especially those who were enrolled in the Kentucky Health Cooperative. For those consumers who are seeking new coverage, I think they will find that CareSource has a long history of putting members first, while offering a good value. Many will find lower premiums with CareSource’s Just4Me than they may have previously been paying,” said Streator.
