Apologetic Robber Sought in Verona Bank Hit

A robber walked up to a teller at the U.S. Bank on Walton-Verona Road in Walton, a dark coat over a grey hoodie tightly clinched around his face, and apologized, saying that he had to rob the bank because his child had been kidnapped.

Now, U.S. Bank has authorized up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that the suspect is likely a white male in his 30s or 40s, about 5'8" to 5'10", 140-170 lbs.. He was driven away by someone in a maroon Toyota Camry. A teller told investigators that the vehicle sounded like it may have exhaust issues or engine trouble as it accelerated from the parking lot.

It headed towards Lebanon-Crittenden Road.
