The City of Covington is seeking qualified developers to find a new purpose for the building at 501 Main Street, commonly referred to as the 501 Main building.
The site is a 2.41 acre property with a two story, brick office building and is owned by the City. It is located within MainStrasse Village, which has established itself as a regional dining and entertainment destination.
The overall goal, according to a news release from the City, is to form a partnership with the selected developer that shares the City's vision for the property and can offer a creative and innovative approach to the redevelopment of the site.
The successful developer will demonstrate significant mixed-use development experience and the financial resources that will ensure the success of this project, the release said.
Those interested in responding are required to attend a pre-proposal meeting at 2 p.m. on December 15 at City Hall, 20 West Pike Street. Developer's Statement of Qualifications are due by 4 p.m. on January 19, 2016.
The City hopes to select a preferred developer by March of 2016.
