New Cath Hires New Girls Track and Field Coach
Newport Central Catholic (NCC) has announced that Adrienne Hundemer has been hired as head coach for the girls' track and field team.
Hundemer, an alumna of Dayton High School, is set to begin her tenure as leader of the girls' program this year, beginning with the spring 2016 season.
Hundemer has a strong knowledge of Newport Central Catholic and track and field. At Dayton High School, she set many KHSAA state records in sprinting and hurdle events. She was a 20 time state champion throughout her high school career and was recently inducted into the KHSAA Hall of Fame. Hundemer ran at Marshall University on a full track and field scholarship.
Hundemer lives in Newport with her two daughters and her oldest attends NCC.
"I'm looking forward to beginning a new chapter of coaching at NCC and to being in the same school as my daughter," said Hundemer.
On her coaching philosophy, Hundemer believes that "when there's a will, there's a way," stating "success takes hard work, dedication, determination, and desire. NCC already has a stellar foundation in track and field and to continue that success, we're going to give it everything we've got."
Hundemer will have an informational meeting soon for all girls interested in running track and field this year at Newport Central Catholic.
