Ventriloquist Museum Curator to Speak at Kenton Rotary Event
The curator of the Vent Haven Museum, Lisa Sweasy, will be the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Kenton County’s luncheon meeting on Thursday, February 11.
Sweasy returned in November of 2013 for her second stint as Vent Haven Museum Curator. She originally served as curator for eight years, from 2000 to 2008.
The Vent Haven Museum is the only ventriloquist museum of its kind in the world. Located in Ft. Mitchell, it houses more than 800 figures, thousands of photographs, playbills, letters and an extensive library of vent-related books, some of which date back to the 1700’s. On June 30, 1973, Vent Haven Museum was officially opened to the public with the dedication of the W.S. Berger Memorial Building.
“The Rotary Club of Kenton County is thrilled to have Lisa Sweasy as our guest speaker,” stated President Carol Margrave. “Our club members are looking forward to hearing about the many facets of the Vent Haven Museum.”
The luncheon will begin at noon at the Colonial Cottage Inn in Erlanger. There will be limited seating by reservation only. To make a reservation, please contact Carol Margrave at 859-240-8227. The cost to cover the lunch is $12.00 per person.
