Since 1923, the awards have recognized the exceptional vision of our nation’s youth. Students, across the country, can apply in 29 categories of art and writing for the chance to earn scholarships and have their works exhibited or published. The writing is judged in terms of originality, technical skill and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. .
“Congratulations to our students as well as our English department on the significant number of awards received,” said NDA Principal Mr. Jack VonHandorf. “In addition to the number of awards, it is quite impressive that all of our English teachers had student winners this year. This speaks to the commitment to excellence on the part of both our students and our faculty."
