Einstein at the Center of Public Discussion at TMC
Thomas More College will host a discussion focusing on the recent breakthrough discovery pointing toward the existence of gravitational waves, predicted by Einstein's general theory of relativity more than a century ago.
The event will be held on Thomas More's Crestview Hills campus on Saturday, March 19 beginning at 8:00 p.m. It will begin with a quick overview of general relativity followed by a discussion of the experiment used to make the first detection of gravitational waves. This phenomenon will likely unlock a new view of the universe not possible with today's light-based instruments.
Weather permitting, a viewing of the moon, stars, and more at The BB&T Observatory after the talk. Thomas More College faculty and students will be available to help the public view the night sky through a telescope.
This talk is intended for a general audience. All ages are welcome and the event is free and open to the public.
