Business Booming for Local Start-up in Year 1

Local start-up, STOCKpliz, a marketplace for the paper and packaging industries, has recently reported significant growth since its launch in September 2015.

The company has already exceeded its user growth in 2016 compared to 2015, and has expanded its user base to 15 countries. Its innovative marketplace for paper products allows registered users to either buy or sell excess inventory.

“We plan to revolutionize the industry and be a breakthrough for paper and packaging companies across the globe,” said Co-Founder Darrin Murriner. “We’ve been in business for less than a year, but we are quickly becoming a valuable resource for professionals in these important industries to not only find great deals, but to also dispose of excess supply at a superior return.”

STOCKpilz brings together buyers and sellers of excess or obsolete inventories. Founders Murriner and David Barnes were inspired by the concept of reducing waste in the paper industry and returning value to producers, consumers and distributors of paper & packaging products across the globe.

The company will be featured at two upcoming local events, including the NewCo startup conference on July 21. NewCo is a mashup of an open-studio tour and a business conference, with the vibe of a music festival. Dozens of innovative companies will be hosting sessions around the city. Participants pick which sessions they would like to see and which organization they’d like to visit in their native environment. STOCKpilz will be presenting at Borderlands, a co-working and creative studio in Newport.

STOCKpilz will also be exhibiting at the upcoming PaperCon show, May 15-18, at the Duke Energy Center. PaperCon brings together CEOs, mill managers, superintendents, scientists, process engineers and suppliers for the largest pulp and paper technical program in the world.

Interested parties may sign up as registered buyers or sellers on www.stockpilz.com. Sellers list the oversupply of products in their inventory that they no longer need, while buyers browse the list of products they want to purchase. STOCKpilz facilitates transactions between users, and will assist with shipping, if needed.
