Latonia Lakes to Celebrate Changes with Community Cookout

UPDATE: Due to weather concerns, this event has been moved from Saturday June 4, to Saturday June 11.

Latonia Lakes is celebrating the accomplishments they’ve made during the past two years with a Community Cookout by the Lake on Saturday June 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Cookout will feature food and games, including cornhole, badminton and ladder golf with prizes for children. There will be grilled hot dogs, burgers, chips, and cokes. Attendees may bring a dessert to share if they choose.

The Cookout is a celebration of all of the good things happening in Latonia Lakes. This summer, Kenton County and the Northern Kentucky Water District are starting a massive road repair and waterline rehabilitation project in Latonia Lakes, an estimated investment of nearly $3.3 million.

The lake has also been cleaned up and the “New Hope for Latonia Lakes” neighborhood group is meeting regularly to work on community issues. More neighbors are getting to know each other and celebrate how far Latonia Lakes has come in such a short period of time.

“Latonia Lakes is a tight-knight community with many assets, such as the lake, historic cottages, and wonderful neighbors. The Cookout is a celebration of those good things and more to come," said Rachel Hastings, Program Director for Community Development at The Center for Great Neighborhoods.

The address is 6066 Twin Lakes Drive. Parking is available at the Lighthouse Youth Center or Oak Ridge Baptist Church if needed.
