New Levee Parking Garage Now Open in Newport
After a year and a half of being surrounded by construction crews, the Aqua on the Levee parking garage is open to the public.
Newport on the Levee announced the opening in a news release on Tuesday.
The newly constructed garage has 815 total spaces, 345 of which will be available to visitors to the Levee. The remaining spots will be reserved for tenants in the new apartments and guests at the new hotel.
Ground broke in November 2014 on the $80 million mixed-use development, led by Capital Investment Group (CIG), east of Newport on the Levee.
The entire development will have 239 luxury one, two, and three-bedroom apartments with views of the Ohio River and Cincinnati skyline. The hotel will be a Starwood Aloft Hotel, developed and managed by Louisville-based Musselman Hotels which operates fifteen hotels across the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions. The hotel will have 10,000 square feet of meeting space. There will be 8,300 square feet of neighborhood retail space along with the 815-car parking garage.
CIG partner David Bastos said at the time that the development "intends to raise the bar for luxury apartment living".
"We fully intend to utilize Newport on the Levee to provide our residents with great entertainment and dining experiences," Bastos said during the 2014 groundbreaking.
Visitors may access the new garage by way of either Saratoga Street or Washington Avenue.
The next anticipated phase of Aqua to open is the residential portion with the first wave of residents slated to move in June, according to Tuesday's announcement.
