Board Gives High Ratings to Bellevue Superintendent
The Bellevue Board of Education offered high praise for superintendent Robb Smith.
Board members told Smith that he embodies the core values of Bellevue Independent schools: honoring the past, embracing the present, and securing the future. They said that he is a role model for ethical professionalism, not only for the staff in the district but also for the students. Members also said that Smith, who took over in 2014, creates a culture of high expectations, innovative practices, and engaging experiences that prepare students to become successful members of society.
The board praised Smith for always having the students and families of Bellevue as his top priority.
Smith received exemplary ratings in six of the seven categories that are on the annual state-mandated evaluation: strategic leadership, instructional leadership, cultural leadership, human resource leadership, collaborative leadership, and influential leadership. He received an accomplished rating in managerial leadership.
"I feel very fortunate to work with such a committed school board and am humbled by this evaluation," said Smith. "These scores are a reflection of the outstanding team of educators assembled in Bellevue independent Schools. They work tirelessly for our kids and community. I can't wait to get started again in the fall."
