Man Charged in Murder of Florence Couple

A man and woman from Florence are still missing, but Kentucky State Police believe that evidence suggests that they have been murdered.

A vehicle belonging to Crystal Warner was found in Georgetown. Officers and K9 units searched the immediate area and an empty field directly behind the gravel lot where the vehicle was found off the 125 exist of Interstate 75, for evidence of the whereabouts of Warner, 35, and Robert K. Jones, 38.

A news release on Friday afternoon indicated that an arrest had been made in connection to the Florence couple's disappearance.

Craig Pennington, 52, of Springfield, is behind bars and charged with two counts of murder. He was arrested Friday and is lodged in the Marion County Detention Center.

State Police said that the ongoing investigation revealed that the couple was killed, but their remains have not been recovered.

Pennington is scheduled to appear in court on Monday at 1 p.m.

This story will be updated when more information is known.
