Conference in Covington to Include Trips to Ark, Creation Museum

The Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter are on the agenda for a conference coming to the Northern Kentucky Convention Center.

Compass International Inc., a non-denominational ministry that organizers faith-based conferences and Bible-based tours, is holding a “Steeling the Mind” Bible Conference Sept. 23-25 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center.

A $79 ticket includes admission to the three-day conference and a two-day pass for both the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum, both operated by Answers in Genesis. A Youth pass for those under 25-years-old is just $59. Savings can total as much as $100 per person.

“What Answers in Genesis has done in Northern Kentucky parallels exactly with what our ministry does,” said Compass International Founder and Executive Director Bill Perkins. “Our conferences defend the accuracy of the Bible, so it is wonderful that we can hold this national conference to coincide with touring The Ark and the Creation Museum.”

The Ark Encounter opened over the summer and is located in Williamstown.

Answers in Genesis Founder Ken Ham, is one of the conference’s featured speakers. Ham is scheduled to deliver two talks: “Noah’s Flood – God’s Judgment of Sin” is scheduled Friday, Sept. 23, at 8 p.m.; “Why taking the Book of Genesis word-for-word is so important to Biblical accuracy” is scheduled Saturday, Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m.

“We are excited and honored to have Ken Ham as one of our feature speakers,” Perkins said. “Ken Ham and Answers is Genesis do a remarkable job defending the accuracy of the Bible, so this is just a great match for us and the people who attend this conference.”

Eric Summe, President and CEO of meetNKY | Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitors Bureau, said faith-based groups are frequent visitors to the Northern Kentucky Convention Center and the entire region.

“The Creation Museum has long been a major draw to our region, and now with the Ark Encounter, we are going to continue to see groups like Compass International visit our community because of these and other attractions and venues to visit and enjoy,” Summe said.

The Ark, at nearly two football fields long and 60 feet high, is a full-scale replica built to Biblical dimensions.

“The people who follow our ministry know about the Ark, and they are very excited about seeing and experiencing it,” Perkins said. “And with the way we are selling tickets, local residents who haven’t been to the Ark or the Creation Museum, or who have been there and want to visit again, will have that chance as well as learn about the numerous scriptures that refer to the devastating worldwide flood. We are convinced this is going to be a one of the most exciting and important Steeling conferences we have every held.”
