These Students Won Kenton County Attorney's Calendar Art Contest

Kenton County Attorney Stacy Tapke and a team of judges including, Fort Mitchell Police Chief Andrew Schierberg, Kenton County Commissioner Joe Neinaber, Jerry Knochelmann of the Kenton County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Representative Diane St. Onge (R-Lakeside Park), and sponsor Republic Bank representative Steve Novak have chosen winners for the 2017 Why I Love America calendar contest.

The judges had the difficult task of narrowing thousands of entries to one winner per grade from public and private Kenton County Schools - Kindergarten through 12th grade.

All winning and honorable mention students with their teachers will be recognized at a ceremony on Monday December 5, 2016 at Dixie Heights High School at 6:00 p.m.

“This calendar was created in 2001 after the September 11 attacks, in part because children can express through art what they cannot say through words," said Kenton County Attorney Stacy Tapke. "I’m so grateful that fifteen years later school children are continuing to celebrate what they love about America – from our flag, our veterans, our first responders, our schools, our nature, our favorite pastimes, to our nation’s history.”
