$8.3 Million to Be Awarded to Local Nonprofits as NKY Organization Dissolves
A local organization has decided to dissolve - and that means a windfall for other Northern Kentucky nonprofits.
The Community Foundation of Northern Kentucky announced Monday that it is dissolving and donating the $8.3 million in funds and assets that it has left. The money is now earmarked for 16 local organization.
The Community Foundation provides social, educational, and health services to the Northern Kentucky region, as well as administrative and operational oversight to the Northern Kentucky Children's Advocacy Center, Women's Health of Northern Kentucky, and Adult Day & Respite Servies of Northern Kentucky.
Reasons for its dissolution were not provided in Monday's announcement but a check presentation is scheduled for Thursday morning at the Metropolitan Club in Covington.
The following organizations will receive funds:
- Brighton Center
- Campbell County Historical Society
- Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky
- Community Services
- Covington Ladies Home
- Faith Community Pharmacy
- Family Nurturing Center
- Northern Kentucky Health Dept. Reserve Corp
- Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center
- NKU Nursing Scholarships
- St. Elizabeth Foundation
- Success by Six
- Sunrise Children’s Services
- The Point
- Welcome House
- Women’s Crisis Center
The amount that each organization will receive was not announced.
The event is scheduled for Thursday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Metropolitan Club (50 E. RiverCenter Blvd. #1900, Covington).
