Driver Arrested After Crashes in Covington, Cincinnati
A man is behind bars after he was involved in car crashes in Covington and Cincinnati.
Covington Police responded to the promenade on Sixth Street between Main and Philadelphia Streets in Mainstrasse Village at around 11 p.m. They found a utility pole down, and part of a bumper and a license plate belonging to a vehicle that had clearly fled the scene.
Turns out, Christopher Elliott, 66, of Dayton, Ky., would allegedly be involved in more accidents before his Wednesday night joyride was over.
In Cincinnati, Elliott was part of "additional collisions", according to Covington Police. He was arrested in Cincinnati and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence.
Covington Police estimate that the damage done to the pole and at least one nearby vehicle in Mainstrasse comes in at about $1,000. "We will certainly be following up on our end for leaving the scene," Assistant Police Chief Brian Steffen told The River City News.
