Thomas More Unveils New Mascot
Thomas More College has a new mascot.
Or, at least, a new mascot costume.
The Crestview Hills college retired its old "Tommy Mo" mascot during Wednesday night's women's basketball game. The old Tommy Mo had been with the school since 2006 and participated in more than 330 games and events like graduations, the college said in a news release.
The new Tommy Mo was designed by a student government committee with input from the student affairs departments, the athletics department, and members of the faculty and staff. He performed for the first time during Wednesday's game with the college's cheerleaders and dance team.
Two students, Andy Christianson and Emma Reno, who received Spirit Scholarships, will take turns donning the oversized head and wardrobe. Reno came to Thomas More from Hillsboro High School in Ohio where, during her senior year, she was the school’s mascot, The Indian. Christianson was The Knight at Northwest High School in Colerain Township, Oh. before coming to Thomas More College.
