KY Sweet 16: Scott Beats Harlan Co. Behind Ohmer's 41
The Scott Eagles are moving on to the quarterfinals of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association boys basketball Sweet 16.
Behind senior Jake Ohmer's 41 points, Scott won its first state tournament game in school history. The school is at the Sweet 16 for only its second time, and the first time since 1989.
James Weber of the Community Press reported that Ohmer's point total ties a Sweet 16 record for Northern Kentucky teams.
The NKY record for points in a Sweet 16 game is 41 by Jack Jennings of Holmes in 1988.

Harlan County (31-4) dominated the 13th Region this season but its fourth quarter comeback fell short against the upstart Eagles, champions of the 10th Region.
Scott (22-12) led by 17 at the half, and 55-43 going into the 4th quarter. The Black Bears were able to make it interesting in the final moments, cutting the lead to single digits, but Scott was able to hold on for a 77-65 win.
