Kenton Library's Turtle Predicts Big Upsets - Including NKU - in NCAA Tournament
If the Northern Kentucky Norse-Kentucky Wildcats match-up on Friday night is comparable to the old David and Goliath, or the Tortoise and the Hare tales, you can bet one local turtle is turning to the underdog.
Munch - the pet tortoise at the Kenton County Public Library - has made his choices in this year's NCAA Tournament, and yes, he picked the #15-seeded Northern Kentucky to topple the #2-seeded Kentucky in Indianapolis on Friday night. In fact, Munch likes the Norse so much that he has them making an appearance in the Sweet 16 where they would ultimately fall, he predicts, to Cincinnati.
Local fans will be excited for more reasons than one. Munch - who was lured to teams' logos by treats in making his selections - picked the Xavier Musketeers to beat the Iowa State Cyclones in the championship game.
