Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC, Mercedes-Benz of Ft. Mitchell Ink Partnership
The Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC (CDLFC) and Mercedes-Benz of Fort Mitchell (MBFM) announced an official partnership beginning with the 2017 PDL soccer season. Mercedes-Benz of Fort Mitchell will be the official jersey sponsor of the Cincinnati Dutch Lions and will hold multiple events in conjunction with the PDL soccer club, a news release said.
The team plays its games at Northern Kentucky University and competes in the highest level of amateur soccer in the country, according to its website.
“It is a great honor to have Mercedes-Benz of Fort Mitchell as our partner. We both strive for excellence,” said team owner Hans Philippo.
“Mercedes-Benz of Fort Mitchell, like our partner, The Cincinnati Dutch Lions, share enthusiasm in encouraging our area youth to excel and we are excited to participate,” said Don Paparella, managing partner at MBFM.
With its new ownership, the fourth-year club has a goal of winning a PDL national championship and being the “Gateway to Professional Soccer” for many aspiring young soccer players trying to achieve their dreams of signing a professional contract. In the last three years, five former Cincinnati Dutch Lions players have signed professional contracts.
The Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC will start their 2017 season at at NKU on Sunday, May 21 against West Virginia Chaos. Kick-off is set for 6 p.m.
